Springtime in Southern Arizona brings idyllic temperatures perfect for a whole host of beloved festivals. Here are some standout events happening in and around Marana. It’s best to plan ahead as some events, while free, require advanced registration.

Desert Bluegrass Festival

The Desert Bluegrass Festival features some of the best bluegrass musicians in the Southwest and attracts thousands of loyal fans every year. It’s an outdoor event with concerts, workshops, jam sessions, a band scramble, children’s activities, and food and beverage trucks. The organizers invite you to “bust out a blanket, some lawn chairs and a cool drink and enjoy the smoothest rhythms the desert has to offer.” This year’s event is March 10-12 and will be held at Gladden Farms Community Park.

Marana Founder’s Day Parade

The Town of Marana ushers in spring with great fanfare with its Founders’ Day event. It’s a day to celebrate the history and people of Marana, meet more of your neighbors, make new friends and enjoy a parade, a vintage car show, live music, artisan crafts, great food, and lots of fun kids’ activities. This year’s event is on March 18, from 10 am to 3 pm and is held at the Town of Marana Civic Center.

The 4th Avenue Street Fair

2023 marks the 53rd year of Tucson’s Fourth Avenue Street Fair. The Fair hosts artists from around the world and features classic Southwestern food, crafts, artisan jewelry, local entertainment and a lot of fun. Best of all, the fair raises funds to support Fourth Avenue’s infrastructure, local neighborhoods, nonprofits and other community events. This year’s event is from March 31 – April 2. Come early to find parking, use the free shuttle service available daily from the Pennington Street Garage or park along the Sun Link streetcar line.

This year’s event is April 27-29.
