Luxury Homebuyer Demographics Shifting

Luxury Homebuyer Demographics Shifting

For decades Dove Mountain has attracted out-of-state and international luxury homebuyers. Many buyers were introduced to the community through signature PGA Golf tournaments held at The Golf Club at Dove Mountain.

While golf is still wildly popular, today our natural Sonoran Desert habitat, open space and bordering natural preserve are among the most coveted “luxury amenities.”

Migrating Millennials

Based on a December 2019 Luxury Market Report published by the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing, luxury buyers are increasingly millennials migrating from major metropolitan areas to capitalize on corporate, personal business or entrepreneurial ventures. In terms of luxury living, among other things, they are seeking living experiences created within natural settings that promote relaxation and wellness.

Building Wealth

Research shows that more than 90 percent of millennial millionaires recognize homeownership as a smart way to build wealth. As of 2020, millennials have overtaken Baby Boomers in numbers and are expected to inherit the greatest amount of wealth by 2030.

Natural Expectations

Dove Mountain looks forward to the new decade and welcoming more individuals and families to our community. U.S. Census Bureau data indicates we can expect more buyers from California, Washington, Illinois, Colorado and Texas whose luxury homebuying dollars will buy more of what they value:

  • Living within a peaceful natural setting.
  • Owning a home that reflects the colors, textures and scenery of its surroundings.
  • Enjoying year-round active pursuits like golf, tennis, swimming, hiking and biking.
  • Being within walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops and The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain Resort and Spa.
